Home - Insight Hub - Next Gen HR: Pizza, prosecco and parental rights
There are various changes to family-related rights and protections on the horizon, which will be important for you if you work in HR or in people management.
Guests enjoyed an evening of pizza and prosecco, while our employment law specialists, Sarah Monan and Emily Campbell explained some significant developments and shared suggestions for proactive steps that your organisation might want to take in advance of these measures becoming the law.
The duo covered:
The changes to the Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act 2023 after receiving royal assent, allowing eligible parents up to 12 weeks of paid leave
Forthcoming changes to paternity leave announced by the government, with the aim of increasing flexibility for parents
Parents receiving greater protection against redundancy
The Carer’s Leave Act (2023)’s greater legal protections, allowing voluntary carers to take leave
A recent report published by the CIPD, on workplace support for employees experiencing fertility challenges
Changes to flexible working requests across employee workforces
Our Next Gen HR events aim to facilitate networking opportunities for those in the first few years of their HR careers. They provide a safe space to ask questions, generate ideas, and to help our attendees to develop professionally. If you have a friend or colleague who would like to join but isn’t yet a member, please share the subscribe link with them.
