Read MoreCatriona is at the forefront of representation at Public Inquiries in both Scotland and throughout the UK and specialises in all aspects of public and regulatory law with a focus on public accountability and securing a just outcome. She leads on public inquiries as part of the firm’s Inquiries Unit. Key to Catriona’s successful representation is developing a comprehensive strategy, including full and transparent engagement, that takes clients through the Inquiry process and gets them to where they need to be.
She’s spent the last two and half years representing clients at the Post Office Horizon IT Public Inquiry which, in its later stages, became one of the highest profile Public Inquiries in the UK following the ITV drama Mr Bates v the Post Office. As well as her work at the Post Office Inquiry, Catriona has also been representing clients at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry over several years, including in the Boarding Schools and List D Schools Phases. Catriona also represents the Royal College of Nursing at the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry.
Alongside this, Catriona has focused on public protection through her work in professional discipline and regulation, complex medical negligence cases and adult incapacity. She has led a number of client relationships in key health and public protection areas, including Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland, the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council and the General Teaching Council for Scotland. She led the Professional Regulation Team which won Litigation Team of the Year at the 2018 Scottish Legal Awards.
When it comes to her life outside of work, Catriona enjoys long walks in the countryside with her handsome Irish Setter and cute Jack Russell Terrier. She can also be found at the gym where the spinning class is her favourite.
