Alister Aitkenhead

Alister specialises in the legal side of family office services for high net worth families. Much of his work focuses on landed estate interests, and he has particular experience dealing with succession planning across the generations.

Alister and his team offer advice on taxation, and the setting up and management of trusts, wills and powers of attorney. He also acts as trustee, particularly in relation to estate interests, and manages a number of private charitable trusts on behalf of his clients.

Having been involved with the charitable sector for several years, Alister is a former president of the Old Fettesian Association and used to be chairman of the largest housing association in Scotland for homeless young people. He is currently a director of Countryside Learning Scotland and trustee for a number of high-value charitable trusts. Alister also holds a number of non-executive directorships.
