HR Assistant
We have a great opportunity for a highly skilled administrator to join our busy, friendly and fun HR team.
Our fast-paced HR team has a vacancy for an HR Assistant based either in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office to deal with the high level of administrative processes. Reporting to the HR Director, this role forms a key part of our team and you will be dealing with colleagues’ queries, undertaking all processes in the employee cycle and maintaining accurate HR records. You will be involved in projects across the business which will help you deliver an exceptional HR service as well as extending your knowledge.
You will be responsible for
- Undertaking HR administration accurately, eg employment t&c, reference requests, pre-employment screening, recruitment administration, leaver administration
- Processing sensitive personal data in line with our internal policies and practices
- Onboarding for new starts up to end of probation
- Undertaking benefits administration for our Private Medical Insurance and Cashplan
- Maintaining SelectHR (HR database) – accurately recording and updating data
- Managing absence records – recording data, escalating trigger points to relevant managers
- Supporting work experience, summer placement and graduate recruitment programmes
- Assisting with Law Society processes
- Managing team diary and HR inbox – allocating work to colleagues and responding quickly / accurately
- Updating the HR intranet regularly
- Preparing monthly HR updates as required to internal committees
- Preparing monthly HR Newsletter
- Supporting project work such as drafting policies, GDPR compliance
What you will need to succeed
- Previous HR experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to propose streamlining efficiencies in projects / tasks
- Able to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines
- A positive attitude and be numerate and methodical
- A confidential way of working due to sensitive personal data
- Be a flexible team worker and able to work using your own initiative
- Desire to learn and contribute to the development and growth of the Firm
- Excellent client service
