Global accolades – a STEP in the right direction for Anderson Strathern
Two of Anderson Strathern’s up and coming private client solicitors achieve Worldwide Excellence Awards from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
The quality of senior solicitor Laura Murray and solicitor Nick Dobbs, who’re based in Anderson Strathern’s Private Client department, was recognised when they each achieved the top marks in their respective groups in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) exams. Laura achieved the best grade across all four papers in the Scottish Trust and Executry Accounting exam and was the highest scoring graduate across all four papers in the STEP Diploma in Scotland, while Nick excelled in the Scottish Wills and Executries Law & Practice exam. They’ve both now been recognised by STEP with Worldwide Excellence Awards.
STEP is the international professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning and spans 56 countries with more than 20,000 members. The excellence awards recognise the top scoring students at distinction level in each of its exams worldwide, with the exams leading to becoming a full member of STEP.
To achieve the top grade at this level is remarkable and is a testament to both Laura and Nick.
Carole Tomlinson, Head of Private Client congratulated the pair, saying:
“These exams are designed to identify the future stars of our industry, they illustrate the technical knowledge and skill of each and every award winner, and I’m very proud to be able to say that two of our team members have had their excellence highlighted in these awards.
“It’s wonderful to see Laura and Nick making such significant professional progress. We wholeheartedly believe that our people are our greatest asset, and Laura and Nick are clearly both tremendous assets for the firm and for our clients, who value the combination of great technical skills with a warm personal approach. I’m delighted for them both.”
Anderson Strathern has STEP Platinum Employer Partner accreditation, the highest possible level under STEP’s Employer Partnership Programme. This accreditation is recognition of the strength of our learning and development provision and the value we place on giving our people opportunities to develop their professional skills and knowledge.
