Alison is a Chartered Tax Advisor having trained and worked within the Big 4 accountancy firms for many years before moving to a law firm. Alison focuses on providing proactive tax planning for family businesses and shareholders, high net worth individuals, trusts and estate and land owners.
Alison’s experience allows her to advise on a broad range of taxes including capital gains tax, income tax, inheritance tax and Land and Building Transaction Tax. Shareholder tax planning is an area in which Alison has considerable experience and she enjoys working with family businesses to maximise the value that they can extract from the business.
Nick Howie | Partner
Nicholas is experienced in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including purchases and sales of shares and businesses, shareholder disputes, management buy outs, shareholders’ agreements and corporate restructuring.
He has acted for a variety of clients from individuals starting their own business to the management teams of large, well-established privately owned companies, across a number of different sectors, with significant experience within the healthcare sector, specifically the dental and pharmacy sectors.
Prior to studying law, Nicholas worked within the commercial division of a national construction materials company and subsequently held a number of management positions with an international retailer.
