We’ve won many awards acknowledging our first-rate legal work and the way we do things. They have recognised the strength of our client service as well as our flexible learning and development plan. We run over 500 training courses each year to enhance our business skills, as well as facilitating and supporting professional development and empowering our people to continue to deliver outstanding legal advice to our clients.
Our Managing Partner, Murray McCall, won Manager of the Year at the 2021 Herald Law Awards of Scotland and our commercial real estate team currently holds a double Real Estate Team of the Year title from both the Herald Law Awards of Scotland and the Scottish Legal Awards 2021.
During 2020, we held a Law Firm of the Year double accolade, having won Firm of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards, following our earlier win of Scottish Law Firm of the Year at the Herald Law Awards of Scotland.

Investing in our people
Anderson Strathern was the first law firm in Scotland to earn the double Gold Investors in People and Investors in Young People accreditations. We are proud to see the effort we put into our peoples’ development recognised in this way.
We are also one of 816 employers in Scotland to be a Young Person’s Guarantee employer. We signed up just after it was launched by the Scottish Government in 2021 and are committed to supporting young people to achieving their full potential.
Management systems standards
We were the first Scottish law firm to be certified to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management, we are also certified to ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management, and ISO 45001:2018 Health and Safety Management. Our Standards are certified by world-leading independent certification bodies, and externally audited on a regular basis.
Living Wage Scotland
We believe paying the Living Wage – an hourly rate based on the cost of living in the UK – is appropriate for an ethical and responsible business. We’ve been accredited as a Living Wage Employer since 2015.
Recognition of professional development
We understand the value of enabling professional development and we’re accredited as a Platinum Employer Partner by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). STEP is the global professional association for practitioners specialising in family inheritance and succession planning.
