We have continued to invest in our strategic growth with the lateral hire of renewable energy industry stalwart Alan Simpson who joins the firm as a consultant from law firm Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie where he was a partner.
Simpson joins us as our Energy Sector Group steps up advisory activity in 2018.
With a background in commercial property, Alan Simpson brings 15 years’ experience of working on renewable energy projects across Scotland and the UK, from onshore wind and hydro to solar and tidal. Alongside his energy credentials, Simpson also has strong links to the international renewables industry, particularly in Germany and China.
As a firm, we have worked on a record number of renewable energy projects over the last twelve months, helping Crown Estate (Scotland) to unlock a series of offshore development opportunities, Bluemerang Capital around the sale of a combined portfolio of wind turbines to Malaysian infrastructure giant Tenaga in one the largest deals of its kind in the UK last year, acting for the landowners’ consortium on the Solwaybank wind turbine project, and acting for Elgin Energy who have built out Scotland’s largest solar park at Errol.
