June Club HR: Social Media in the workplace

Our latest Club HR seminars explored the use of social media in the workplace and took place in both our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.

Our seminar was designed for HR professionals or management with responsibility for managing staff and workplace issues that arise through the use or misuse of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Our own in-house experts, Barry Nichol and Drew Long talked through the legal and practical issues created by the rise of social media and the implications for the employment relationship.

    Looking at:

    • The opportunities and risks created by social media in the workplace.
    • Common issues for employers, including bullying and harassment and discrimination over social media.
    • Dismissals related to social media usage.
    • Key social media cases
