Gender pay gap reporting rules

New 2017 Regulations under the Equality Act 2010 come into force from April 2017.

The Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017

These new regulations require all private sector employers with more than 250 employees to disclose information about their gender pay gap.

The information includes the following differences between male and female employees:

  • Average pay
  • Median pay
  • Bonus pay
  • Median bonus pay

Similar rules for Scottish public sector employers are likely to be brought into force in 2018.
