Property development? There’s a root and branch reform of the planning system underway hear what the experts think about the Planning (Scotland) Bill
We're joining forces with Lichfields to highlight the key changes and impacts of the new Planning (Scotland) Bill which has been in debate in Scottish Parliament since the end of 2017.
The Bill is currently set for a Stage 3 debate on the many amendments, and a vote between 18-20 June 2019 by all MSP's. We're therefore holding our seminar to Wednesday 26 June in anticipation that the Bill will be enacted and receive Royal Assent this summer.
Our breakfast seminar, which will be chaired by our own in-house expert Alastair McKie, will include panel speakers from Lichfields, Nicola Woodward and Gordon Thomson along with other key industry experts.
The Bill will introduce changes across all aspects of planning from, developer contributions, stakeholder engagement, housing delivery, development planning and development management. We'll examine the opportunities and challenges for developers, local authorities, and communities, and explore how all these groups may be affected by the proposed changes.
We have summarised the amendments to the Bill at Stage 2 in a downloadable PDF here. The Bill has, however, been subject to yet further and significant amendments by the Planning Minister and other MSPs.
