Alastair’s expertise covers all aspects of Planning, Environmental and Transportation law. He has over 30 plus years direct experience in these areas and is sought out by clients for his specialist expertise across a range of sectors including Energy, Housing, Transport, Retail, Leisure and Mixed-use developments.

He was elected a Legal Associate of The Royal Town Planning Institute in 1997. Alastair has acted in some of the most complex projects in Scotland and his approach is built on a wealth of legal expertise, knowledge and experience. These combined strengths allow him to identify swiftly the legal issues and effectively manage the risks in any project.

He is the past Convenor of the Law Society’s Planning Law Sub-Committee and is an accreditor for the Law Society’s panel for conferring specialisms in Planning Law on solicitors.

Away from his many and varied professional responsibilities, Alastair enjoys walking in the hills, tennis and golf.
