Andrew is a partner in our Employment, Immigration and Pensions team. Andrew acts for businesses, individuals and public sector and education bodies. Over and above his wealth of experience in the general employment law field, he has specialist expertise in the areas of industrial relations and HR support. He leads our HR Plus service in which we provide our HR Consultants to workplace for project work or to carry out disciplinary or grievance investigations.
His significant client base ranges from UK Government departments and higher education establishments to SMEs without an in-house HR facility.
Andrew leads the teams which support our public sector clients such as Scottish Government Legal Department, UK Government Legal Department, University of St Andrews and numerous Further Education clients throughout the UK. Commercial clients include Hyster-Yale Group, McAlpine & CO Ltd and Stobo Castle Health Spa.
Andrew’s experience includes advising employees, representing them in settlement agreements and in the Employment Tribunal. He is regularly instructed in employment matters across the UK, is a tutor in Employment Law on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at University of Edinburgh and an External Examiner for University of Aberdeen. He is Accredited as a Specialist in Employment Law by the Law Society of Scotland. He is recommended by the legal directories both for Employment Law and for Education Law.
In his precious spare time, Andrew likes to socialise with family and friends and has – on occasion – been to the gym.
