Fraser Geddes

Fraser’s broad and diverse practice involves the resolution of commercial and property disputes and professional negligence claims. He has a particular interest in regulation within the health sector. Working closely with commercial clients and private individuals, his primary aim is to keep them out of court; but where this is not possible or the best strategy, he also has a depth of experience pursuing and defending claims in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court and Lands Tribunal for Scotland. Fraser’s far reaching experience also includes advising public sector bodies involved in disputes, so he has a deep, innate understanding of the issues that they face.

A natural problem solver who works tirelessly to deliver solutions, Fraser is a keen advocate of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, and he is noted for this by Chambers. In addition, Fraser is certified by the Law Society of Scotland as an Expert Witness.

As head of our Dispute Resolution Department for the past decade, Fraser holds significant management responsibility across the whole spectrum of contentious practice, in addition to managing a talented team and his own caseload.

Fraser makes the absolute most of his leisure time, especially with his wife, three children and whippet puppy. They are a dedicated outdoor family, who love walking, travelling and exploring. When time allows, Fraser also enjoys playing golf [badly] and squash [don’t ask]. He also enjoys going to the theatre and the occasional masochistic trip to watch his beloved St Mirren.
