Martin is a partner in our corporate and commercial team and is a non-contentious construction specialist with particular expertise in procurement strategies. He works on the drafting, negotiation and approval of construction contracts for a diversity of major clients from education, leisure and culture, retail, office developments, energy and the public sector. Martin is also a member of our Brexit group.
Martin also advises on renewable energy projects, including on the procurement and construction of an innovative wind turbine/hydrogen fuel cell energy system, FIT sized wind projects, large solar and Scotland’s first anaerobic digestor (AD) gas to grid systems.
He also has recent experience in the drafting of agreements for the supply of heat and power from renewable sources, grid connections, EPC and operation and maintenance contracts. These contracts include solar, CHP and wind projects and AD feedstock supply.
With a Masters in Environmental Law from Nottingham University, Martin maintains a very strong interest in the implications of environmental legislation on our infrastructure needs. He also heads our Creative Industries Sector Group and provides invaluable expert advice to Scotland’s burgeoning digital and creative sectors.
Despite the demands of his career as a key specialist with Anderson Strathern, Martin finds time for gigs, buying books that he never quite gets round to reading and occasional bursts of slow running.
