Neil is a Consultant in the firm’s Shetland office, based in Lerwick. Neil’s main areas of expertise are in conveyancing, including negotiating contracts for buying and selling domestic and commercial properties, crofting law work, and preparing Wills and Powers of Attorney. As our operations expand locally in Shetland, Neil is introducing his clients and contacts to the firm and the wide range of specialisms we can offer. Locally, we are currently advising on the development of land as a vertical space launch site. The firm also advises clients in Shetland on land related matters pertaining to the oil and gas terminals at Sullom Voe.
Neil served on the Council of the Law Society of Scotland representing Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles. He was formerly Director of Law and Administration of Shetland Islands Council before entering private practice.
Outside of work, Neil enjoys time with his family at home in Shetland and abroad on family holidays. He has a passion for music, live and recorded, and an interest in photography. He also enjoys swimming and walking, and hopes to take up cycling when time allows.
