Robin’s specialist expertise covers a broad spectrum of employment and equality law, as well as niche areas such as service user discrimination, agricultural worker rights, and the implications of artificial intelligence in the workplace. He has significant experience in gender recognition and belief discrimination disputes, which have captured national attention due to their high-profile nature. His regularly advises on large restructures and TUPE. He also provides all the key employment law documentation to help prevent and resolve disputes swiftly, including settlement agreements.
His practice encompasses Education Law with a strong focus on equality duties towards pupils and students.
In addition to his legal advice, he is a sought-after trainer. Upon invitation from the Law Society of Scotland, he provides CPD training to other specialist employment lawyers in Scotland and regularly delivers training tailored for HR professionals and people managers. Robin tutored at the University of Edinburgh and has spoken at events for the Association of European Lawyers.

Outside the office, Robin is an avid sportsman, participating in rugby and racket sports clubs. He also enjoys skiing, golf, cycling, and, most of all, exploring Edinburgh’s vibrant dining scene.
