Victoria is a Director and Head of Charities at Anderson Strathern. She specialises in Charity Law and is accredited as a longstanding specialist in this area by the Law Society of Scotland.  Victoria is widely recognised as being one of the leading Scottish solicitors in charity law with extensive experience in the sector.

Victoria acts for a wide range of charities covering every different area of the charity sector. This includes charities of all sizes and different legal forms, as well as a number of dual registered and international charities.

Dealing with all aspects of charity law and charity tax law including gift aid, Victoria’s work includes formation and choice of legal structure, restructuring, mergers, amalgamations and joint working, change of legal form, dual registration, good governance and best practice in good governance as well as governance issues, trustee and senior management training, renewables, regulatory requirements and compliance, policies and procedures, safeguarding, fundraising and dealing with volunteers, trading and tax issues, trustee duties, winding up, problem solving, OSCR investigations, reputation management and much more.

Victoria is both tax and investment qualified. She is has been a charity trustee for over 20 years on several charities and is now a trustees of the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust and also the Carnegie Hero Fund Trust. She sits on the Charities Committee of the Law Society of Scotland. She has co-authored a book titled: ‘The Practical Aspects of Scottish Charity Law’.

Victoria also deals with private client work including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and estate planning.
