Victoria is our Head of Charities. She specialises in delivering private client services to individuals and families and also has specialist expertise in charity law. For her individual private clients, she works on a range of key matters such as wills, all forms of trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship and intervention orders, estate and tax planning and care of the elderly.

As a Law Society of Scotland accredited specialist in Charity Law, Victoria acts for numerous charities. These include housing associations, royal charter bodies, religious bodies, higher education, schools, educational endowments, trusts, charitable companies, Scottish Charitable Incorporated organisations, community benefit companies and many more. Victoria also acts for a number of dual registered and international clients.

Dealing with all aspects of charity and charity tax law, Victoria’s work encompasses formation and appropriate legal structure, restructuring, governance issues, mergers, amalgamation and joint working, dual registration, renewables, regulatory requirements, compliance, fundraising, trading and tax issues, trustee duties, winding up, and OSCR investigations.

Victoria is both tax and investment qualified and is a trustee of a large Scottish charity and sits on the ICAS Charities Panel. She has also recently co-authored a book titled: ‘The Practical Aspects of Scottish Charity Law’, published by Greens in August 2016.
