Read MoreIn our CPD seminar series hosted for solicitors in our Scottish Referral Network we share insight into a different specialist practice area each quarter. At our event on 5 October, our specialists discussed the main issues to be aware of when you’re working on complex restructuring and insolvency matters.
Our discussion included:
Katrina Lumsdaine
Partner | Head of insolvency and restructuring
Katrina is head of Anderson Strathern’s insolvency and restructuring unit which includes the financial litigation team. She is a solicitor advocate and is a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation department. She has over 20 years’ experience in commercial litigation, always with a particular interest in insolvency litigation. Katrina also sits as a legal member of the Tax Tribunal for Scotland. Her impressive team of dedicated financial litigators has unrivalled experience and expertise in Scotland. At the heart of Katrina’s considerable success is the ability to understand her clients’ needs and her sheer determination to help them achieve their goals. It’s no coincidence that she has been consistently recognised and rated by the independent directories as a leader in her field, which notes that “She is a good person to turn to because she’s calm, measured, knows the technical aspects and turns things around quickly.”
Alistair Dean
Partner | Commercial disputes specialist
Alistair specialises in commercial and construction disputes and is highly regarded by his clients and peers for his approach to dealing with difficult issues. His many clients include developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, national retailers, house builders and trade bodies. He is a Solicitor Advocate and appears regularly in the Court of Session. He deals with a wide range of complex commercial matters including adjudication, arbitration, mediation and expert determination. Having originally worked with Anderson Strathern, Alistair went on to found his own niche commercial and construction litigation practice – ADLP – building up a strong client base and a wealth of expertise. In February 2016 Alistair returned to Anderson Strathern, bringing his ADLP practice with him. Alistair has also acted as secretary of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators [Scotland Branch] and sat for two years on the committee of the WS Society. His qualifications include an LLM in Construction Law.
