Bruce Farquhar, Chair and Partner | Anderson Strathern – Bruce is the Chair of Anderson Strathern. He is a partner in the corporate and commercial team and leads the energy sector group. Bruce is also a director of the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and a former charity trustee of the micro-certification scheme charitable foundation. Martin Whiteford, Partner | Anderson Strathern – Martin is a partner at Anderson Strathern specialising in infrastructure and renewables projects. He advises on all types of renewable energy projects but has recent experience of advising on an innovative wind turbine/hydrogen fuel cell energy system, Scotland’s largest consented solar project, tidal energy and Scotland’s first anaerobic digestor (AD) gas to grid systems.
Andrew Lyle, CEO | Locogen – Andrew is a professional engineer who has been active in the UK renewable energy sector since 2002. In 2009, he established Locogen to finance, build and operate low carbon and renewable energy projects. Locogen develops, constructs and operates ground-mounted solar farms, hydroelectric schemes and wind farms. They also deliver community renewables projects, roof-mounted solar installations, energy storage systems and renewable heating solutions, including district heating, ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. Locogen continues to grow in the UK and internationally, with Locogen SAS based in Rennes, France, and with investments in solar companies in the energy access market in West Africa. Andrew is also Vice Chair of Scottish Renewables, a member of the Scottish Parliament’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Cross-Party Group and sits on the advisory board of the Energy Technology Partnership.
Mark Peebles, Sales & BD Manager | EWT – Mark started his career in engineering with Scottish Power in a coal fired power plant in East Lothian. He had 5 years in an ultra clean environment with Johnson & Johnson before moving to the USA for almost 10 years in a commercial role in weather systems sales. He started the UK arm of the EWT ‘s business in 2010, now with over 50 staff servicing the fleet of almost 400 spinning turbines, and over 10% of those supplying power directly to British businesses with on-site generation. EWT delivers multi MW wind farms on a fully turn-key basis, as well as smaller wind farm projects in the sub MW range. The wind turbines of EWT are based on the highly advanced direct drive (gearless) technology. It is recognised by industry experts worldwide, that this technology offers superior performance and reliability.
